I've used Weather Underground's monthly temperature records while making crocheted temperature blankets for the local animal shelter. (50 hdc x 40 rows with a 6.5mm or 7mm hook make an approx. 20" square blanket -- a good large cat/small dog size. 1 row for each day of the month; usually has to be supplemented with 6 rows on each end in a neutral color. The pattern is a file on the Comfort for Critters FB page.)
